Takht’s emissary to Tohra
dismissed Patiala, May 29 The SGPC President at a press conference at Dukhniwaran gurdwara here today morning he claimed that the special messenger — Amarjit Singh — who had come to Patiala yesterday to deliver a letter from Akal Takht Secretariat had been dismissed from service. Mr Badungar said the messenger should have been circumspect specially as Mr Tohra was admitted in a hospital. He said the messenger could have contacted Akal Takht Jathedar Joginder Singh Vedanti and known whether there was urgency to deliver the letter to Mr Tohra. The SGPC chief said since the messenger went to the hospital where Mr Tohra was admitted to deliver the letter, he was being dismissed from service. Meanwhile Mr Tohra’s son-in-law Harmail Singh Tohra said the messenger’s visit did not have adverse effect on the health of the former SGPC chief as he did not go inside the ICU unit in which Mr Tohra was admitted. Mr Harmail Singh Tohra also spoke in this regard to Kesgarh Sahib Jathedar Tarlochan Singh, Damdama Sahib Jathedar Balwant Singh Nandgarh and Takht Darbar Sahib Jathedar Jaswinder Singh Granthi on the issue. Meanwhile the visit of Amarjit Singh has resulted in confusion amongst Akali rank and file. Because Amarjit Singh came in a vehicle belonging to the Dharam Prachar Committee which could have been given to him only by the SGPC authorities. This sources said it meant that the SGPC was aware that Amarjit Singh was going to Patiala to deliver a letter to Mr Tohra. In this light the dismissal of the messenger is also intriguing. |
