7 securitymen among 15 killed

Srinagar, April 25
Seven security personnel, including an Army Major, and a block president of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, were among the 15 persons killed and 40 injured today as militants stepped up their attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said.

A-I cancels 5 flights
Mumbai, April 25
Air-India today cancelled five flights from here following an agitation by the pilots’ union. The flights cancelled are Dubai (A-I 713), Delhi-London (A-I 129), Delhi-Hong Kong (A-I 310), Chennai-Singapore (A-I 472) and Kuwait (A-I 859), according to an AI official.

Admissions via ‘touts’ to be probed

The police is likely to broaden the scope of inquiry into the alleged CBSE PMT scam by getting at the persons who had got admission in medical colleges through scamsters in the past. Kingpin, Devinder Singh Pappu, a Sirhind-based Akali leader had reportedly told the police about the involvement of certain CBSE officials in the racket.
