MiG-23 crash toll rises to five Mullanpur Dakha (Ludhiana), April 5 Both were the children of Purshottam Singh, alias Bhola, in whose house the aircraft had crashed. His wife, Kuldeep Kaur is still in the hospital, fighting the battle between life and death with 90 per cent burn injuries. Her condition is stated to be critical. Bimla, wife of Dewan Chand is also in the ICU of DMC hospital and is seriously injured. She has also sustained severe burn injuries. Hospital sources said both the women were conscious and were in severe pain. Meanwhile, a team of various experts of IAF from Delhi and Ambala reached the crash site today and took the stock of the situation. A team was sent to various houses as the pieces of the plane had fallen in numerous houses. Wing Cdr Dharam Punni while talking to TNS at the crash site said the pilot Flt Lt. B.S. Gill was safe and recuperating from the crash. He said an inquiry into the crash had already been ordered. On the following day of the crash hundreds of people were descending on the crash site from far flung areas. A team of IAF personnel was preparing the damage list. Mr Avtar Singh, whose house was damaged in the crash said the officials of civil administration were also preparing a list of the damaged movable and immovable properties. |
