Rainfall: Rain or snow has occurred at most places in Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Himachal Pradesh. Rain or thunder showers have occurred at a few places in Punjab and at isolated places in Haryana.Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region.

The chief amount of precipitation in cm are: Himachal Pradesh: Solangnala 2 and Bhang and Dhundhi 1 each and Jammu and Kashmir: Banihal 4, Batote and Pahalgam 3 each and Jammu, Quazigund and Srinagar 1 each. Snowfall report in cms are: Himachal Pradesh: Patsio 4.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures fell appreciably in Jammu and Kashmir, rose in east Rajasthan and changed little elsewher. Departures: They were appreciably below normal in Jammu and Kashmir, below normal in Punjab, appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthasn and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 39.6°C recorded at Barmer and Churu (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours’ change: Minimum temperatures rose appreciably in Haryana and west Uttar Pradesh, rose in Punjab and east Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh, west Rajasthan and Uttaranchal, above normalin Punjab and Uttar pradesh and normal in Jammu and Kashmir. The lowest temperature in the plains was 13.4°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of 31 March: Rain or snow will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Punjab and at isolated places in Haryana and west Uttar Pradesh. Isolated duststorm/thunderstorm is likely in Rajasthan. Weather will be mainly dry in east Uttar Pradesh.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood (valid until the morning of March 31): Partly cloudy sky with possibility of rain or thundershowers in some areas. Maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 33°C and 20°C respectively.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
