13 die in road mishap

Jammu, March 4
At least 13 persons were killed and 43 others injured in two different road accidents in the Jammu region overnight, police said today. In an accident today, 10 persons died and 42 sustained injuries, when a bus rolled down into a 150-mt deep gorge near Bindle in Udhampur district.

The overloaded bus was on way to Gordi from Udhampur and as the bus reached near a sharp turn, the driver lost control over the vehicle which rolled down into a 150-mt deep gorge killing nine persons on the spot and injuring 43 others. In another accident, three persons were killed while one person sustained serious injuries, when their car collided with a security vehicle at Domi on the Jammu-Akhnoor road last night, the police said.
