Sonia approves Punjab Cabinet expansion
Tribune News Service

New Delhi, March 4
Decks have been cleared for the expansion of the Punjab Cabinet with Congress President Sonia Gandhi agreeing, in principle, to the Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh’s proposal for expansion of his Cabinet.

The Chief Minister, who met Mrs Gandhi today evening, told The Tribune here that "the Congress President was open to the idea of the Cabinet expansion." However, no names were discussed at today’s meeting as Congress General Secretary Mohsina Kidwai, who is in charge of the state, was in Shimla. The Chief Minister is expected to come to the Capital later this week to finalise the names.
