4 massacred in Jammu

Jammu, February 25
Terrorists of the Hizbul Majaheedin killed four persons at Rah Siot village in the Sunderbani area of Rajauri district last night.

The terrorists went to the shop of Rakesh Kumar and shot him dead along with three others who have been identified as Bhushan Lal, Jeet Kumar and Jugpal. The militants are reported to have identified persons belonging to a particular community before shooting them at point-blank range. All of them died on the spot.

Minister for Public Works Department Madan Lal Sharma, accompanied by Director-General of Police A.K. Suri, visited the village and assured the families of the victims to bring the culprits to book. Earlier, enraged over the incident, residents of Siot village blocked the Sunderbani-Rajauri road.

The terrorists earlier fired at a truck which was coming here and the vehicle went out of control injuring the driver Mohammad Iqbal and other occupant of the vehicle Mohammad Parvez.

In another incident in the Doda area of Udhampur district, four terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces. They have been identified as Syed Iqbal Shah, Imran Khan, Mast Gul and Naser Malik.

SRINAGAR: Security forces shot dead a local militant in Pulwama district of South Kashmir this morning, official sources said. The militant, identified as Abdul Rashid Malik, was killed in a joint operation launched by the BSF and state police at Lurgoan-Tral.
