New Delhi, February 24
A Delhi court today granted five hours’ custodial parole to senior IPS officer R.K. Sharma allowing him to attend the engagement ceremony of his daughter. He is the prime accused in the Shivani Bhatnagar murder.

Examining an application moved by counsel S P Manocha seeking interim bail for the accused Additional Sessions Judge J.M. Malik directed that Sharma could be taken to Panchkula, where the function is scheduled to take place on March 1. He, however, has to report back at 10 pm on the same day.

Meanwhile, the court reserved its order on framing charges against the six others accused in the case for February 27.
