393 cases of rape in Capital
last year till Nov
New Delhi, February 19
Crime against women is on the rise in the metropolitan cities including Delhi, according to the National Crimes Records Bureau, the Rajya Sabha was told today.
As many as 386 cases of rape have been reported in Delhi last year till November and seven cases of rape with murder in the same period, Minister of State for Home Harin Pathak said in a written
reply. Cases concerning the IPC continued to register a declining trend in Delhi during the year 2002 also, he said.

gets HC notice on education for disabled kids

The Delhi High Court today issued notices to the Central
and Delhi Governments on a PIL seeking a comprehensive education scheme
that provides for transport facilities and books, among other things, to
the children with disabilities.
Enough funds for you, CM assures panchayats

Nursing home fire: 41
granted bail
Bhiwani: All the 41 suspected persons arrested in connection with setting a nursing home on fire at Badhra last month were released on bail by a local court yesterday. All of them belong to Sheoran Khap. The case will be heard on February 26. Sheoran Khap has convened a meeting to discuss the issue at Singhani village tomorrow.

Two jump in front of trains in Sonepat
Sonepat, February 19
Two persons committed suicide by jumping before the trains on Tuesday in different incidents. Their bodies have been kept in local civil hospital. The incidents took place at Jahri railway crossing and near Rathdhana Railway Station on Delhi-Ambala section.

Tempo breaks barrier,
rams goods train engine
New Delhi, February 19
Two persons were killed this morning when a tempo collided with the engine of a goods train at an interlocked gate on the Delhi-Ambala section.
The tempo was found crushed and entangled with the engine; both the tempo occupants, Sunil and Lala Ram, in their early twenties, died on the spot. A third occupant, Harish (17), has been admitted in the trauma centre and is under observation.
