VHP wants disputed land too
Threatens to lay claim to mosques built over temples

Overriding its earlier demand for only the “undisputed land” in Ayodhya, the VHP today stepped up its aggression, asking the government to hand over the entire acquired area, including the disputed site, threatening that a denial could lead to claims on thousands of other mosques constructed over temples.

Be ready to evacuate Indians, airlines told
New Delhi, February 11
Air India and Indian Airlines have been directed by the government to gear themselves up for possible evacuation of over 50,000 Indians from Kuwait in the event of possible attack by the USA on Iraq. The directives have been issued following deterioration of the situation in the Gulf region and the USA threatening Iraq with possible action for its denial to hand over weapons of mass destruction.

In a bloody clash between dalits and members of the upper caste community at Harsola village of this district this afternoon dozens of men and women suffered injuries and a large number of dalits, including women and children, fled from the village and took shelter outside the residence of the Deputy Commissioner here today.

Hospital issued fake blood reports: SIT
Amritsar, February 11
In a new dimension to the infamous kidney scam, the special investigation team has found many blood grouping reports from the laboratory of Kakkar Hospital here to be fake. Talking to The Tribune, Mr S.K. Sharma, Inspector-General (Jalandhar Zone), who heads the SIT, said doctors had been found issuing “fictitious blood reports”.
