Rainfall: Rain or snow has occurred at most places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at many places in Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Haryana, at many places in Punjab, at a few places in west Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in east Rajasthan. The chief amounts of precipitation in cms. are: Haryana: Ambala, Chandigarh, Chhachhrauli, Delhi Ridge, New Delhi (Palam and Safdarjung), Panchkula and Rewari 1 each, Himachal Pradesh: Amb, Bangana, Dehragopipur and Una 3 each, Dharamsala, Ghamroor, Kandaghat, Nadaun and Shimla 2 each and Barsar, Bhuntar, Kahu, Nahan, Paonta, Rampur Bushar, Solan, Sunibhajji and Sujanpurtira 1 each, Jammu and Kashmir: Batote, Banihal and Quazigund 2 each and Punjab: Halwara, Ludhiana, Nangal and Nawanshahr 2 each and Batala, Balachaur and Jagraon 1 each.

Snowfall report (cms): Himachal Pradesh: Dhundhi 78, Solangnala 34, Bhang 9 and Patsio 8.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures rose markedly in Uttaranchal, rose appreciably in Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh, rose in Haryana, fell in west Rajasthan and changed a little elsewhere. Departure: They were markedly above normal in Uttaranchal, appreciably above normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and normal in east Uttar Pradesh.

The lowest temperature in the plains was 8.0°C recorded at Amritsar (Punjab).
