Avalanche warning

Chandigarh, January 28
Weather in most of north-west region again turned cold today after three days of respite in the wake of widespread moderate to heavy snowfall on the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining areas, including the tribal belt of Himachal Pradesh, since last night and scattered rains in Punjab and Haryana.

The Snow Avalanche Study Establishment (SASE) issued “low danger warning’’ to the people in Kashmir, specially of the forward areas against venturing out in clear weather. The possibility of snow avalanche increases during clear weather. UNI
