3 LeT ultras charged under POTA

New Delhi, January 13
A Delhi court today framed charges against three Lashkar-e-Toiba militants under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) for receiving funds through the havala channel for terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir.

Designated Judge S N Dhingra charged accused Ayub Mir, Harbans Singh and Bachraj Bangani, believed to be working for the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT), for the offences committed under POTA.

The special judge said though the defence lawyers submitted that the accused were falsely implicated and there was no legal admissible evidence against them, the confessional statement of the accused was sufficient to charge them. UNI
