Petrol, diesel prices hiked

New Delhi, January 2
The prices of petrol will increase by more than a rupee across the country from midnight tonight as oil companies executed an upward revision of retail prices of the transportation fuel following strong increase in international prices of crude oil.

According to the new prices, a litre of petrol in Delhi will cost Rs 29.93 — up by Rs 1.02 per litre from the existing price. Diesel in Delhi will cost Rs 19.07 per litre — an increase of Rs 1.01 per litre.

In Mumbai, petrol will cost Rs 34.73 — an increase of Re 1 from the present level of Rs 33.73 while diesel will be costlier by Rs 1.21 at Rs 24.24.
