Slow fiscal reforms worry PM
New Delhi, December 21
Atal Behari VajpayeePrime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee today cautioned that achieving 8 per cent growth rate would not be easy if states were not willing to take “difficult decisions” and expressed concern over the slow pace of reforms essentially because of lack of consensus on critical economic issues.

Militants kill four of family
Woman beheaded for not wearing burqa

Four members of a family, including a six-year-old child, were killed and three women seriously injured when suspected militants barged into their house and opened fire indiscriminately on the inmates at Rebbon village near Sopore in Baramula district of north Kashmir last night.

Bhattal files plea on dropping charges
Chandigarh, December 21
Mrs Rajinder Kaur Bhattal comes out of the District CourtsCabinet Minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal today filed an application for dropping the proceedings against her in an alleged corruption and embezzlement case. She was earlier booked by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau on the allegations of embezzling Rs 20 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund in 1996.
