Abu Abraham dead
Thiruvananthapuram, December 1
Renowned cartoonist, columnist and animator Abu Abraham died here today after a brief illness. He was 78. He is survived by his wife Psyche and two children, Janaki and Aisha. He was admitted to a private hospital in the city on November 22 following complications arising out of an ulcer and underwent abdominal operation the next day. His condition remained critical ever since and the end came at 4.10 pm today, hospital sources said. Suave and soft-spoken, Abu-Abraham was a member of the Rajya Sabha for six years from 1972. Born on June 11, 1924, at Mavelikkara in Kerala, he started drawing caricatures at the age of three. UNI
