Mr Justice S. Rajendra Babu, a senior Judge of the Supreme Court, will further examine the reported involvement of three Judges of the Punjab and Haryana Court in the Punjab Public Service Commission affairs.

Yatra fails to take off
Togadia, Acharya Dharmendra held, released

Ahmedabad, November 17
A tense Sunday passed off peacefully in Gujarat with the authorities making pre-emptive arrests of Vishwa Hindu Parishad top leaders Pravin Togadia and Acharya Dharmendra along with around 500 activists here while heading towards Godhra to kick off the controversial “vijay yatra” banned by the Election Commission.

SC cautions on poll pleas
New Delhi, November 17
To stop corrupt practices in poll, the Supreme Court has ruled that an election petition by a defeated candidate accusing the elected one of employing corrupt practices in the election should not be dismissed by courts at the threshold solely on technical grounds.

No revolt banners this time
Nankana Sahib, November 17
Unlike the past, not even a single banner of inflammatory slogans by any radical Sikh outfit was displayed at Sikh shrines in Pakistan on the occasion of the birth celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev today. The banners of separatist thoughts have been replaced with “welcome” and “congratulations” banners, which have been put up by the Punjab Tourism Department.
