Major fire in Mumbai
Mumbai, November 8
A big fire broke out at an industrial estate at Lower Parel in central Mumbai today, fire brigade sources said. The fourth floor of Amin Industrial Complex at the Sun Mill compound was gutted at 3.30 pm, the sources said. Twelve fire tenders and six water tankers have been rushed to douse the blaze. PTI

PM to open meeting of rights institutions
New Delhi November 8
The Prime Minister, Mr Atal Behari Vajpayee, will inaugurate the seventh annual meeting of the Asia Pacific Forum of national human rights institutions on Monday. The three-day meeting is being co-sponsored by the office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. Sources in the commission said the Human Rights Commissions of Australia, Fiji, Indonesia, Mongolia, Nepal, New Zealand, Phillipines and Sri Lanka which comprise the Asia Pacific Forum, would meet to discuss human rights issues relevant to their region. TNS
