Gill warns against J&K ultras’ release

Chennai, November 8
Former supercop K.P.S. Gill, credited with stamping out militancy in Punjab, today cautioned Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed against the move to release militants, saying it would make terrorism linger on in the state for another 20 years.

“The move could result in continuance of terrorism in that state for another 20 years,” warned Mr Gill, while addressing a seminar here on terrorism. Mr Gill’s comments came after a former JKLF commander Nazir Ahmad Sheikh and top Hizbul Mujahideen militant Ayub Dar were released on bail. PTI
