Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures rose in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and changed little elsewhere. Departures: They were above normal in Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan, below normal in Punjab and normal in the rest of the region.

The highest temperature in the region was 41.8°C recorded at Jalore (Rajasthan).

Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures changed little. Departures: They were appreciably above normal in west Rajasthan, above normal in Haryana, east Rajasthan and east Uttar Pradesh, below normal in Punjab and normal in the rest of the region.

The lowest temperature in the plains was 15.5°C recorded at Ludhiana (Punjab).

Forecast valid until the morning of October 18: Rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of October 18: Partly cloudy sky. Maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 33°C and 21°C respectively.
