Mumbai, September 28 Salman furnished a bond of Rs 950 with the Bandra police station here and was allowed to go, Deputy Commissioner of Police Bipin Kumar Singh said here. However, the police refused to comment on the nature of the investigations and the outcome of the blood test report which was conducted to check whether he was “under the influence’’ of liquor. Salman’s imported Toyata Land Cruiser (MH-01-DA-32) was towed to the police station. The accident took place at 3
a.m. when Salman was driving from Khar to Bandstand at Bandra here. Immediately after the accident, he fled. At around 10.45 a.m., he surrendered at the Bandra police station and was taken for a blood test at the JJ Hospital at Byculla. The deceased was identified as Nurula Mehboob Sharif. He was killed on the spot. Abdulla Rauf Abhul Shaikh (22) and Muslim Shaikh (17) were admitted to hospital with injuries. Two other injured were discharged after they were administered first-aid at the hospital. The police said a police bodyguard and the actor’s private security guard were in the vehicle when the mishap occurred. The charge sheet would be filed in due course in a local court, he added. Salman was arrested at St Martin Road while he was going to the police station to give a statement. The actor was interrogated for over three hours. A large crowd gathered outside the police station, creating a traffic jam on the busy Bandra road. Meanwhile, the grieving relatives of the deceased present outside Bhabha Hospital said they would decide about filing a case against Salman Khan only after legal advice. The 37-year-old ‘Sallu’, as he is popularly known, has always been in the eye of controversies and has grabbed headlines for a host of issues.
