A team of the Crime branch of the Delhi police today seized certain movable and immovable assets belonging to suspended Haryana Inspector General of Police Ravi Kant Sharma, the prime suspect in the Shivani murder case.

Led by Inspector Rajinder Bhatia, a team of 15 cops dropped in at the Sector 6 house of Ravi Kant here this afternoon. A Ford Escort, a TV set, refrigerator and some other electronic goods were seized by the police as a part of the proceeding to declare the IG a proclaimed offender.

Ms Madhu Sharma, wife of the accused, and her daughter Komal were present when the cops visited the house.

It may be recalled that the team had approached the District Magistrate cum Deputy Commissioner of Panchkula, Ms Jyoti Arora, to seek her permission for executing of the seizures.

The Delhi police had begun attachment proceedings on Monday by attaching property worth Rs 2 crore in Gurgaon, Mussoorie, and at his ancestral village Deeg, near Shahbad.

The IG is on the run since August after the Delhi police had come to Panchkula to arrest him for his involvement in the Shivani Bhatnagar murder case.
