Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region. Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures fell in Jammu and Kashmir and changed little elsewhere. Departures: They were markedly above normal in Jammu and Kashmir, appreciably above normal in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Uttaranchal, above normal in east Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh and normal in west Rajasthan.

The highest temperature in the region was 42.7°C recorded at Allahabad (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of April 19: Rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Punjab and Uttaranchal. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of April 19: Mainly clear sky. Maximum temperature will be around 39°C.
