Tribune News Service

New Delhi, March 26
In a joint operation, the police of Jammu and Kashmir and Delhi today swooped on the Hurriyat Conference’s office here in connection with some alleged hawala transactions.

The raid takes place close on the heels of the arrest of senior Hurriyat leader and JKLF chairman Yaseen Malik, who had been booked under POTO, in Srinagar yesterday, following the seizure of $ 1 lakh from two persons allegedly meant for him, Delhi police sources said here.

The authorities conducted the raid after Mushtaq Ahmed Dar, one of the persons arrested along with the amount, had made “some revelations” to the state police, the sources said.
