Srinagar, March 23
Two pedestrians including a woman, were killed and over 20 injured when militants hurled a grenade in a busy market place at Habbakadal here this afternoon.

Police sources said the grenade was targeted at a picket of the security forces but missed the target and exploded on the road killing one person on the spot. Nine BSF personnel were among those injured.

The deceased has been identified as Abdul Ahad Sheikh. The woman succumbed to her injuries on the way to a hospital.

JAMMU: Six militants, including two Pakistani intruders, were killed in separate incidents in Poonch and Rajouri districts, while the security forces seized 25 kg of RDX from a temple complex in Doda district, defence sources said here on Saturday.

The security forces, seized a huge quantity of explosive material from Sarthal Devi shrine complex in Thathri tehsil of Kishtwar town of Doda district yesterday.

Meanwhile, seven Armymen and a civilian were injured in shelling and firing resorted to by Pakistani troops in the Nowshera and R.S. Pora sectors of this division since Friday.

Seven Army personnel at a forward post in the Nowshera sector sustained minor injuries in a mortar shell blast.

4 LeT men held in Hapur

Hapur, March 23
The Uttar Pradesh Police today arrested four suspected members of the banned Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba for harbouring terrorists of the group, given the task of creating disturbances in the national Capital.

Superintendent of Police (Ghaziabad Rural) Subhash Singh Baghel said the four LeT members — Shamim Hussain, Rafique, Kalian and Raeef — were arrested after a special task force of the state police stormed their hideout in Hapur late last night.

They have been arrested under the Prevention of Terrorism Ordinance (POTO). UNIBack
