Rainfall: Light rain or snow has occurred at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Light rain has occurred at isolated places in Punjab. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures rose appreciably in Haryana and Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: They were markedly above normal in Rajasthan, appreciably above normal in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab, above normal in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 8.7°C at Amritsar.

Forecast valid until the morning of February 24: Rain or snow will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers will occur at many places in Punjab, at a few places in Haryana and north Rajasthan and at isolated places in west Uttar Pradesh.

Hailstorms/thundersqualls are likely at isolated places in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of February 24: Partly cloudy sky with chance of thundery development and light rain in some areas. No significant change in minimum temperature and will be around 12°C.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
