Congress moots Pachmarhi-type session
New Delhi, February 3
The Congress is toying with the idea of holding another Pachmarhi-type brainstorming session of senior leaders this year to evolve strategies to revamp the organisation and organise a meeting of party Chief Ministers soon to tone up the working of the governments where the party is in power. Highly-placed party sources said Mrs Sonia Gandhi favoured Pachmarhi-type introspection sessions which would take stock of the political and economic situation and chart future course of action for the party, out of power at the Centre since 1996. The Pachmarhi session was held in September 1998 soon after Mrs Gandhi’s assuming the reins of the organisation. PTI
