Tribune News Service

New Delhi, January 18
Union Petroleum Minister, Ram Naik today clarified that there is no proposal under consideration to revise prices, either upward or downward of kerosene and cooking gas.

Reacting to reports in a section of the press indicating possibilities of a price hike, the minister said: “Such reports are speculative and there is no truth in such reports”. There is no proposal under consideration to revise prices, either upward or downward of kerosene and LPG, he said in a statement today.

The minister categorically stated that the revision, if any, in the prices of kerosene and LPG may come about only in the forthcoming Budget to be presented to Parliament on February 28.
