Cold wave abates in Haryana, J&K

New Delhi, January 6
Cold wave conditions continue to prevail in parts of Punjab and east Uttar Pradesh. They are likely to abate during the next two days. Cold wave conditions have abated in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and west Uttar Pradesh.

Rainfall: Weather was dry over the region.

Temperatures: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures changed little. Departures: They were appreciably below normal in Punjab, below normal in Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 2°C recorded at Adampur (Punjab) and Hindon (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of January 8: Rain or snow is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Haryana, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of January 8: Partly cloudy sky with thundery development and light rain in some areas. Fog in the morning. Minimum temperature will be around 7°C.

Farmers weather bulletin for Delhi: Forecast valid until the morning of January 8: Light rain may occur at one or two places.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: Mainly dry weather.
