Rainfall: Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Uttaranchal, at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. The chief amount of rainfall in cms are: Himachal Pradesh: Baijnath 5, Kasol and Pandoh 3 each and Sunibhaji 2, Punjab: Nangal 4, East Uttar Pradesh: Katerniaghat 7, Bansi 5, Chhatnag, Jaunpur and Mukhishpur 4 each, Allahabad and Lucknow 2 each and Ayodhya and Raebarelly 1 each and Uttaranchal: Benbasa 6, Dehra Dun and Uttarkashi 2 each and Rudraprayag 1.

Forecast valid until the morning of August 5: Rain or thundershower will occur at many places in Himachal Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, at a few places in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, east Rajasthan and west Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in west Rajasthan.
