Eric Clapton tired of road

English guitarist Eric “Slowhand” Clapton has grown tired of the road at the age of 56 and is to quit touring, according to a report in “Rolling Stone”. The Telegraph reported that Clapton, who has survived just about every affliction of the rock world from alcoholism to heroin abuse, has been influenced by the imminent birth of his third child. DPA

Ship sinks
Kuala Lumpur, May 28
The marine police today rescued 12 Indonesian crew members of a Panama-registered tanker when their vessel sank after colliding with another tanker in the narrow waters off Malaysia’s west coast. The crew of the Singapore Timur escaped with minor injuries in the incident, which occurred early Monday. AP
