Rainfall: Light rain has occurred at isolated places in East Uttar Pradesh. Weather was dry in the rest of the region.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: Maximum temperatures rose markedly in East Uttar Pradesh, rose appreciably in Punjab, rose in Himachal Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, fell in east Rajasthan and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: They were appreciably above normal in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, above normal in Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The highest temperature in the region was 43.9°C recorded at Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh).

Forecast valid until the morning of 12th May: Rain or thundershowers are likely in Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.
