Lucknow, March 4
Former Prime Minister V.P. Singh today asked the world community to apply pressure on Aghanistan’s ruling Taliban militia to stop them from destroying world famous Buddhist statues. “The Buddhist statues in Bamiyan are the part of great world history and everyone in the world besides condemning it should try to apply pressure on the Taliban militia to stop them from destroying the statues,” he told reporters here. 5 PILGRIMS KILLED
Hyderabad, March 4
Five pilgrims were killed on the spot and 13 injured when a private bus in which they were travelling fell into a ditch while negotiating a turn near Bawalwadi in Nanded district in Maharashtra this morning. PTI

15 DIE IN MISHAP
Kolkata, March 4
At least 15 persons, including some labourers, were killed and two injured when their truck overturned on the national highway near Farakka in Murshidabad district early today. UNI
