Rainfall: Rain or snow occurred at many places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir and at a few places in Uttaranchal. Rain or thundershowers occurred at isolated places in Haryana, Punjab and west Uttar Pradesh. Weather was mainly dry in the rest of the region. Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) and Kathua (Jammu and Kashmir) each recorded 1 cm of rainfall.

Snowfall report (cms): Himachal Pradesh: Dhundhi — 17, Solang Nala — 5 and Patsio — 1; and Jammu and Kashmir: Gulmarg — 3 and Himmat, Mop, Ragani and Zamidar Khan Galli - 1 each.

Temperature: Past 24 hours change: Minimum temperatures fell in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and west Rajasthan, rose in Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and changed little elsewhere. 

Departures: They were appreciably above normal in east Rajasthan, above normal in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, west Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 7.5°C recorded at Amritsar.

Forecast valid until the morning of February 23: Rain or snow is likely at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Forecast for Delhi and neighbourhood valid until the morning of February 23: Mainly clear sky. Mist in the morning. No significant change in minimum temperature.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
