To our readers
Gujarat disaster: An appeal

The devastation caused in Gujarat by the January 26 earthquake is the worst in nearly half a century. There is destruction all around. In this hour of crisis, the people of Gujarat need emotional and material support from the entire nation. In keeping with The Tribune tradition of responding to the suffering humanity, we appeal to our readers to rise to the occasion and donate liberally. Send your crossed cheques or bank drafts, favouring "Gujarat Chief Minister's Relief Fund" (payable at Gandhinagar) to The Tribune office, Sector 29-C, Chandigarh-160020. We shall forward your contribution to the authorities concerned who will issue receipts directly to the contributors. The contributions are exempt from income tax under Section 80-G of the Income Tax Act.

The names of the donors who contribute Rs 500 and above will be published in the print editions of The Tribune and its sister publications.
