Vijayaraje slipping back into coma
NEW DELHI, Jan 21 (UNI) — Veteran BJP leader Vijayaraje Scindia’s condition deteriorated today and she showed signs of slipping back into coma, doctors attending on her at Apollo Hospital here said. The 81-year-old leader had to be operated upon yesterday for the removal of a clot obstructing her respiratory tract. While she had withstood the surgery well, she was not responding to stimulus unlike the past couple of days, the doctors said.
44 injured in land dispute
JAISALMER, Jan 21 (UNI) — At least 44 persons, including policemen and a Sub-Divisional Officer were injured in a clash between two groups over a piece of land at Barmer, about 3 km from here, today. The police had to use mild force and burst tear gas shells to disperse a mob of 300-odd people, District Collector Kuldip Ranka said. Fourteen persons have been arrested. Telecom GM shot

Jan 21 (PTI) — Officiating General Manager of the Telecom Department in Manipur Outim C. Ambe was shot dead yesterday by unidentified gunmen, official sources said today. The gunmen called him out of his government quarters at the heavily-guarded Palace Complex at 7.15 p.m. yesterday and shot him dead at the doorstep.
