Punjab in grip of cold wave

NEW DELHI, Jan 13 — Cold wave to severe cold wave conditions are prevailing in many parts of Punjab. Cold wave conditions are also prevailing in many parts of Uttar Pradesh and in parts of Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir. They are likely to extend in parts of Rajasthan. Cold wave conditions have abated from Himachal Pradesh and west Rajasthan.

  • The maximum temperature on Saturday was 17.0°C (62.6°F) and the minimum 3.6°C (38.5°F).
    The maximum relative humidity was 100 per cent and the minimum 46 per cent.

  • OUTLOOK FOR  SUNDAY: Fog/mist in the morning. Mainly clear sky. Minimum temperature will be around 4°C on Monday.

NEW DELHI, Jan 13 — Cold wave to severe cold wave conditions are prevailing in many parts of Punjab. Cold wave conditions are also prevailing in many parts of Uttar Pradesh and in parts of Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir. They are likely to extend in parts of Rajasthan. Cold wave conditions have abated from Himachal Pradesh and west Rajasthan.

Rainfall: Weather was mainly dry over the region.

Temperature: Past 24 hours’ change: Minimum temperatures fell appreciably in Haryana and Punjab, fell in Jammu and Kashmir, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal rose in east Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere. Departures were below normal in Uttaranchal, and in the remaining parts of Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 0.5°C recorded at Amritsar, Punjab.

Forecast valid until the morning of 15th: Weather will be mainly dry over the region.

Low temperature warning: Ground frost is likely at a few places in Haryana, Punjab and west Uttar Prasdesh during the next two nights.

Forecast for Delhi & neighbourhood valid until the morning of the 15th: Mainly clear sky. Fog in the morning. Strong chilly winds during daytime. Minimum temperature will be around 5°C.

Farmers’ weather bulletin for Delhi: Forecast valid until the morning of the 15th: Sky will be mainly clear.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
