Rain likely in some places
NEW DELHI, Jan 12 — Cold wave to severe cold wave conditions continue to prevail in most parts of Uttar Pradesh, parts of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and west Rajasthan. The wave has abated from Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, east Rajasthan and Uttaranchal.

NEW DELHI, Jan 12 — Cold wave to severe cold wave conditions continue to prevail in most parts of Uttar Pradesh, parts of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and west Rajasthan. The wave has abated from Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, east Rajasthan and Uttaranchal.

Rainfall: Weather was mainly dry over the region.

Temperature: Past 24 hours’ change: Minimum temperatures rose appreciably in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab, rose in Rajasthan, west Uttar Pradesh and Uttaranchal, fell in east Uttar Pradesh and changed little elsewhere.

Departures: They were below normal in Haryana, Uttaranchal and the remaining parts of Uttar Pradesh and normal in the rest of the region. The lowest temperature in the plains was 1.8°C recorded at Sriganganagar (Rajasthan).

Forecast valid until the morning of 14th: Rain or snow is likely at a few places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttaranchal and at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir. Rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Haryana and Punjab. Weather will be mainly dry in the rest of the region.

Low temperature warning: Ground frost is likely at a few places in Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh during the next two nights.

Forecast for Delhi & neighbourhood valid until the morning of 14th: Partly cloudy sky with a possibility of light rain/thundershowers in some areas. Fog in the morning. Not much change in minimum temperature.

Outlook for the subsequent two days: No large change.
