BJP ultimatum to INLD on seats
Chautala is unrelenting
NARNAUND (Hisar), Jan 9 — The state unit of the BJP today served an ultimatum on its alliance partner, the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), saying it would either contest 35 seats or all 90 assembly seats. It also unilaterally announced its candidate for Narnaund constituency.

Karmapa shifted to safer place
DHARAMSALA, Jan 9 — The 17th Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorjee, who arrived here in McLeodganj after fleeing from Tibet, was shifted to the Gyuto Tantric Monastery in Sidhbari, on the outskirts of the town, in the wee hours today.

CBI to probe hijacking
NEW DELHI, Jan 9 — The CBI has set up a special investigation team (SIT) to conduct a comprehensive probe into the recent hijacking of the Kathmandu-New Delhi Indian Airlines flight by five Pakistani nationals. The team, headed by CBI Joint Director M.L. Sharma, will specifically go into the possible involvement of the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) of Pakistan, bureau sources said today.
