#oldrajendranagar #delhinews #rajendranagar #studentsprotest In light of the tragic incident involving the deaths of three UPSC aspirants due to waterlogging at a coaching centre in Rajinder Nagar, students in large numbers continue to take to the Delhi streets to protest against the harrowing incident. Students staged ‘Dharna’ to protest against the mismanagement and negligence of MCD, IAS coaching institute and Delhi Jal Board. Students put forward their demands for compensation and justice against the loss of lives. In a recent development, the accused in the case was sent to 14-day judicial custody by the Tis Hazari Court on July 29. Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) also formed a high-level committee to investigate the flooding of the basement of a coaching institute. Speaking to ANI, a protestor said, “Committee has been set up and as soon as after that the first thing they done is to put it up on the twitter handle of Ministry of Home Affairs. There is no accountability whether the committee is working or not. We won’t move from here till our demands get fulfilled. Coaching mafias only care about to make profit…” Another protestor explained, “... The reason for waterlogging in this area is that this is a low-ground area... The sewers here are blocked... The sewer lines are choked because they don't have enough diameter to accommodate so much water. Coaching is not allowed in the basement as per the fire NOC and the MCD norms... Buildings are higher than 4 floors. How are they getting fire NOC if the height of the building is more than 15 meters?... There are exposed 440-volt wires here. Multiple wires are strangled and can cause a huge mishap anytime...," says a local protesting in Old Rajinder Nagar along with students. #oldrajendranagar #delhinews #rajendranagar
