Woman rescued from flesh trade

A Batala-based NGO with the help of the local police rescued a girl, who alleged that she was being pushed into prostitution by a group of persons, including a woman, on Saturday.

The victim told mediapersons that some persons captured nude pictures of her and were blackmailing her. They were pushing her to the prostitution. As she declined, she was physically assaulted by them. She alleged that the accused also kidnapped her cousin to force her into the flesh trade.

A video of her being thrashed has gone viral in the social media. A raid was conducted in Dhupsadi locality here on Saturday and the girl was rescued. “The suspect runs a prostitution racket through a website,” she said.

The DCP said raids were on to nab the suspects running the prostitution racket.
