Amritsar: Six players from the Khalsa College have been selected for Junior National Swimming Camp in the swimming and water polo competition organised at Guru Nanak Dev University. Principal Dr Mehal Singh, said about 250 sportspersons, boys and girls between the age of 14 and 17 participated in the competitions that were organised by Punjab Swimming Association, in collaboration with the District Amritsar Association. Harleen Kaur, Inayat Dhillon, Sabreen Kaur won two bronze medals each and Priyanka Sharma won three bronze medals in this competition. Among the above selected players Mahabir Singh, BA student of Khalsa College and Ranbir Singh (XII Class), Gurmeet Singh (IX class), Agam Kumar and Ravi Singh (Class X) and Mantej Singh (Class XI) from Khalsa College Senior Secondary School are notable.

Student brings laurels to Sidana int’l

Gursehaz Singh, a student of Sidana International School, has earned laurels for the school by wining KVPY with AIR 789. Gursehaz is a medical stream student, who had already appeared and is appearing for many competitive exams. Gursehaz is now eligible for monthly fellowship for all further studies as well as admission into premier institutes like IISC and IISER etc. The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is an on-going National Programme of Fellowship in Basic Sciences, initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, aiming at attracting exceptionally highly motivated students for pursuing basic science courses and taking up research career in the field of basic science. Moreover, selection of the students is made from those studying in XI standard to 1st year of any undergraduate programme in Basic Sciences. Dr Jeewan Jyoti Sidana (Managing Director), Sidana International School, extended warm regards to the student for his achievement and applauded the teachers for their guidance and support.

Agreement signed with IBM

CT Group of Institutions has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IBM India Pvt Ltd. to launch value added courses for MBA, BTech, BBA and BCA. During the signing of MoU, official from IBM namely Khushbu Datwani, Leader Growth Initiative was present along with CT Group Chairman Charanjit S Channi, Managing Director Dr Manbir Singh, Director Campus (Officiating) Dr Anupamdeep Sharma and Director Research Dr Jasdeep Kaur Dhami. Besides, Manish Sharma, Rajat Munjal and Bhawna from IBM were also present during the signing ceremony.

Students of PSEB Class XII honoured

Nanak Singh, Principal, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur College for Women honoured the students of Class 12 who excelled in PSEB boards results. He said in the above examination, college student Shivalika Jain scored 93 per cent with 464 marks out of 500 marks, Suneha scored 91.2 per cent with 456 marks and Mahima Verma scored 91 per cent with 453 marks. On this excellent result of the college, Nanak Singh lauded the hard work done by Prof Sonia, Prof Gulshan and Prof Harpreet Kaur and said due to them the result of the college has been100 per cent.
