In a vibrant display of art and culture, an event to celebrate Teej festival was organised by the employees of Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) today. The event began with a religious song.

In her welcome address, Deputy Secretary Gurmit Kaur emphasised the need for cultural activities in professional spaces. She said, “It is a great opportunity for us to showcase our talent here. I congratulate all, who have contributed in making making the event successful.”

As the auditorium echoed with the sound of claps, a group of students from the School of Eminence, Phase 3B1, sang the popular folklore of Mirza and ‘Tappe’.

One of the highlights of the function was a dance performance by a transgender employee, Simmi, from the DPI, reinforcing the idea of inclusivity and promotion of equality in professional spaces.

Talking to The Tribune, Punjabi Language Development Cell in-charge Parminder Kaur said, “We are honouring our culture and history by celebrating Teej at our office today. Our department is working tirelessly to promote Punjabi language among students and residents.”
