Patiala murder accused apprehended in city

Chandigarh, June 4
A murder accused, Parmod Kumar, wanted by the Patiala police was apprehended by the Chandigarh police during an investigation into a firing incident at a liquor vend in Sector 9.
Sources said Parmod’s role in Sector 9 firing incident could not be established.
The police said Parmod, along with his associates, had shot Shamsher Singh (35) dead following an old rivalry at Patiala on May 21.
Parmod was questioned for his role in liquor store firing.
The police said during questioning, Parmod revealed information about other criminals active in the region, including Kanwar Randeep Singh Kahrod, alias SK, who operates liquor vends in Patiala, Jatinder Shergill, Sajjan, Abu and a few others.
The police said SK had been involved in several criminal cases and recently, he entered into liquor business.
The Patiala police later took him into their custody.
