The Court of Additional District and Sessions Judge, Sarkaghat in Mandi district, sentenced a murder convict to life imprisonment today. Theconvict was also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000.

District Attorney Kulbhushan Gautam said in 2015, Lakhi Singh was killed by Mohan Lal, a native Kamla village in Hoshiarpur in Punjab. The victim was living as a tenant at the house of Babu Ram at Sarkaghat in Mandi. The accused attacked the victim with a sharp-edged weapon and silt his throat. —TNS
