Dharamsala, February 1
Rajya Sabha MP Indu Bala Goswami, in a statement issued here today, appreciated the Union Budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. She said that it would give a boost to tourism, dairy and fishery industries in Himachal Pradesh.
Indu said that the Budget would help the state governments in infrastructure development at famous tourist places and the participation of the Central Government in their branding and marketing in attracting international tourists to many places such as Dharamsala, Palampur, Dalhousie, Shimla and Manali in Himachal. This would provide employment to the local youth and would boost tourism industry, thus ensuring the all-round development of Himachal, he added.

She said that the decision of the Central Government to strengthen air traffic would increase the arrival of high-end international tourists in the state. This would strengthen the economic condition of the state, she added.
The MP said the interest-free loan facility to the state governments for infrastructure in the tourism sector would ensure funds for long-pending road, drinking water, electricity and parking projects at many tourist places such as Shimla, Manali, Dharamsala and Dalhousie.
Indu said that covering all anganwari and Asha workers and helpers under the Ayushman Bharat scheme would directly benefit thousands of women of Himachal. By increasing the milk production capacity of animals, the state’s dependence on neighbouring states would reduce and the income of rural women would increase, she added.
