Ananya, Shubhneet Kaur, Jasmeet Kaur, Sukhvir Kaur, Amanpreet Kaur, Jaismeen Kaur and Gurleen Kaur secured the first position in different weight categories in the boxing (girls’ U-14) competition in the ongoing district-level games of the third edition of Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan, being organised by the Punjab Sports Department under the aegis of Sports and Youth Services, Punjab, with assistance from the district administration at different venues across the district on Friday.

At Kishori Lal Jethi Government Senior Secondary School, Khanna, in the 30-32 kg weight section, Ananya of Jagat Colony, Khanna, got the first position while Komalpreet Kaur of Chakkar village finished at the second place. Diya Sharma of Khanna and Anjali of Chakkar village shared the third position.

In the 32-34 kg weight category, Shubhneet Kaur and Sukhdeep Kaur secured the first and second place, respectively, while in the 34-36 kg weight group, Jasmeet Kaur of Chakkar village came out triumphant and Jashanpreet Kaur of Jarkhar village finished second.

In 36-38 kg weight category, Sukhvir Kaur of Chakkar village, Gurnoor Kaur of Shahpur village and Prabhjot Kaur of Chakkar village secured the first three positions.

In 40-42 kg weight group, Jaismeen Kaur of Chakkar village emerged the winner while Amrit Kaur of Khanpura village and Khushi Kumari secured the second and third place, respectively. In 42-44 kg weight category, Gurleen Kaur emerged the winner and Navjot Kaur finished second.

In netball (boys’ U-14 section) Government Senior Secondary School, Bhaini Sahib, in U-17 group, Government Senior Secondary School, Bhaini Baringha village, and in U-21 category, Bhaini Baringha village secured the first position.

In softball (boys’ U-14), Guru Nanak Model School, Dholewal, beat BCM School, Focal Point, 7-3 and DGSG School, Shimla Puri, beat Mallah Centre 12-1 to enter the final while in U-17 section, BCM School, Focal Point, beat Government Senior Secondary School, Gill village, 5-1 to qualify for the final.
