Anil Sharma, BJP MLA from Mandi Sadar Assembly segment, has targeted the state government over development issues. Hitting out at Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, Sharma said the condition of roads in Mandi district was going from bad to worse. No one believed that the Chief Minister was from Mandi district as it was being ignored in all senses, he alleged.
Sharma said the Chief Minister had announced a parking lot in Mandi town but till date, there was no development in this direction. He had also announced to promote water sports activities in Pandoh dam and Larji dam reservoirs but nothing was visible on the ground in this regard, the MLA rued.
He said in the past three years, Jai Ram Thakur had inaugurated only those development projects in Mandi Sadar which were started during the previous Congress regime in the state.
Now, the Chief Minister was focusing on upgrading Mandi Municipal Council as Municipal Corporation for which panchayat areas would be included in the corporation. The residents of around 13 panchayats were opposing the move. The government should take people of these panchayats into confidence before going for the merger, Sharma stated.
“The state government is biased over development issues in Mandi Sadar Assembly segment. I was humiliated by IPH Minister Mahender Singh Thakur and Mandi MP Ram Sawroop Sharma on a public stage in the presence of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur,” he alleged.
The MLA said “During the Covid crisis, my actor son was coming to Mandi from Chandigarh and he was harassed at the state boundary for two hours. During his stay in Mandi, the power supply was kept erratic, which was only a politically motivated act.”
In the past three years, during the BJP regime in the state, progress had come to a standstill in Mandi Sadar Assembly segment, which was not good.
