Drug addiction eating society like a termite: Hoshiarpur cop
Hoshiarpur, October 23
A rally was taken out by the Public Relations Department of Rayat Bahara Group under the “Beta Bachao Abhiyan’’ to save the young generation from drugs. Students from all the colleges of Rayat Bahra Educity campus participated in large numbers.
The rally which started from Green View Park ended at Government College Chowk, was flagged off by SSP SS Chahal. He said this was a good initiative taken by Rayat Bahara Group in which there will be full cooperation of the police. He said in today’s era, addiction was eating the society like termites. “If we do not save our youth from drugs, we will have to face serious consequences,” he said adding that once a man gets trapped in the quagmire of addiction has to struggle hard to get out. The government has opened de-addiction centres and if someone nearby or a family member is under the influence of drugs, then he should be taken there and got treated.
SP (Headquarters) Manjeet Kaur said that to save children from drugs, they should be attracted towards sports from the beginning. Praising this initiative of Rayat and Bahra group, she said that other organisations should also take inspiration from this and hold such programmes. “Until the youth was not aware, we will not be able to free ourselves from the problem of drug addiction,” she said. Campus Director Chandra Mohan welcomed the guests and said that Rayat Bahara Group will always fulfil all its responsibilities towards the society.
