Delhi smog delays seven flights to city

Due to smog in the Delhi region, seven flights of different operators arrived late at Chandigarh international airport here today.
The Air India Delhi flight arrived late by around 4 hours. The Air India flight AI-463, which has the scheduled departure of 11:15 am at Delhi took off at 2:50 pm to arrive at local airport at 4:37 pm against the scheduled arrival of 12:50 pm.
The Alliance Air flight to Dharamsala with the scheduled departure of 9:55 am left the Delhi airport at 11 am and reached here late by around an hour. The flight was recently introduced to cater to the tourist rush from Chandigarh to the Himachal Pradesh city.
Air India airport manager MR Jindal said the flights departure at Delhi was hit due to smog and hence, the schedule was delayed from the city as well.
The other flight operators also have been experiencing delayed flight schedules from Delhi. The Air Asia flight I5-481 from Delhi arrived late by 44 minutes. It departed from Delhi an hour and eight minutes late to reach Chandigarh at 7:34 pm against the scheduled arrival of 6:50 pm. Subsequently, the flight took off late from Chandigarh by 50 minutes at 8:10 pm against the scheduled departure of 7:20 pm.
Flights from Kullu, Bengaluru, Srinagar, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Pune also got delayed by 25 to 48 minutes. — TNS
